“Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice.” – Henry Ford
Last Sunday, my morning lacrosse session got cancelled, more like nobody showed up. I was bummed because lacrosse is my release from my day-to-day. I returned home with my ‘to-do- list running in my head, one of them, to chop wood for the upcoming Winter. I took the axe and started the process. The disappointment of not playing lacrosse went into each chopping motion, splitting the wood to burn.
After almost 30 minutes, enough wood was split to stack for drying. I took a picture on Instagram showing the end result from the frustration.
But of course, fellow entrepreneur, @GrantHewit, had to chime in with a quote from Henry Ford (see pic, above).
I never heard of the quote, but it’s true. I gave it more thought, after wiping the sweat off my forehead. I was reminded when I started my own venture/business. There’s a certain feeling, when starting a specific venture, especially when it’s your own. It’s called: a burning passion. And then there’s seeing that passion positively affecting others, or your target audience. It’s called: being happy.
So, go ahead. Chop your own wood! It will warm you twice. And make sure to have some Tiger Balm. :o)
