They’re called ‘The Bravest’. And I’ve always admired them when seeing them wherever.
I used to play their club lacrosse team in NYC and each time we knew our games would be very “chippy”, or at times ruthless. So when I get a request from a former FDNY lacrosse player to execute a portrait of himself, along with his father and brother, I was up for the challenge. When I was informed that all three in the piece are FDNY firefighters, I was absolutely honored to do it.
The following are progression pictures of the piece.
And the finished product, below.
Amazing to see a family of FDNY members. A big cheers to Danny McEnroe (left) of East Islip, NY, and his father and brother who represent ‘The Bravest’.
