Interview with Hollywood producer & director, Chris Moore.

(Chris Moore, center, with Matt Damon and Marisa Tomei at a Q&A panel for the History Channel documentary “The People Speak”)

Over the weekend I played with LaxAllStars at the 2011 CityLax Southampton Shootout tournament and fund-raiser in Southampton, Long Island.  A one day lacrosse tournament that benefits the growth and development of New York City public school lacrosse, through Mat Levine’s successful program, CityLax.  As the sport of lacrosse continues to develop with the new editions of collegiate programs such as Michigan (Div. I-2012) and Marquette (Div. I-2013), and being more mainstream off-the-field with the advent of the lacrosse movie “Crooked Arrows” – it’s great to see how far the sport has come from the many different contributors of sorts.

I also had the great opportunity to interview former Harvard lacrosse defenseman and current Hollywood producer and director, Chris Moore, who came by to check out the CityLax event.  Some of Chris’ Hollywood productions are “Good Will Hunting” (1997), “Project Greenlight” (2001, 2003, 2005), “American Pie(1999), “American Pie 2” (2001), “American Wedding” (2003), “The People Speak” (2009) and recently “The Adjustment Bureau” (2011).  Chris talks about his lacrosse playing experience growing up and how lacrosse contributed to his accomplishments in Hollywood.  He also talks about his upcoming “American Reunion” the fourth installment of his American Pie series, which opens up nation-wide on April 6th, 2012.  LaxAllStars and The Art of Lax™ got the folding chairs set by the lacrosse field and whipped out the BlackBerry and iPhone cameras for this interview with Chris Moore.

Big thanks to Chris for taking the time to sit down with us and all his hard work in the movie industry – keep making them and we’ll watch them!

  1. Hey Chris, we played on Team Guinness in Los Angeles with Harry and co. in the mid 90’s. Why are you sitting in a chair watching the action – you played great D back in the day. Let’s go man, shake of the rust and get back on the field! Or if you prefer, the Jagermeister Lacrosse movie is a blockbuster waiting to happen – not yet rated….
