2010 was the last time I attended the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship in Baltimore, MD seeing a dramatic finish of Duke beating Notre Dame in OT. The father of the winning goal-scorer for Duke, Steve Costabile, got in touch with me later to get a custom piece done of his son, CJ. It was one of my favorite client calls as that inquiry made me look at him more as a friend than a customer, to this day. 6 years later, Steve, inquired for another custom piece done for this youngest son, Nick, a former goalie for SUNY-Cortland.
Below, are the following progression pics taken of the process.
Music is always a constant whenever creating the traditional art. My Pandora 90’s music selection had the ‘Gin Blossoms’ blasting a short video shared on Twitter giving props to the band made for a nice Re-Tweet, as well.
A work in progress video was even made. You gotta’ have a lot of fun while doing the hard work.
Steve came over to pick the piece up and of course, chat it up! :o)
Like on Facebook.
And of course, CJ’s goal, below!
Steve Costabile, being a Fire Chief of the Yonkers Fire Dept. game my family a private tour of one of the fire houses earlier in the year.
