We have this belief that our way(s) to innovate is to make the lacrosse art go “beyond the frame’. Off the walls and be part of your everyday sort-of-speak. One of those ideas early during the year was to make a hat of some sort with art. After studying the current trends of headwear in lacrosse, we were noticing that one style of hat in particular was in demand. It was time to make our version of the popular ‘Boonie Hat’.
The word ‘Boonie’ was/is military slang for the word “Boondocks” meaning a rough, remote part of the country. The real term is derived from the Filipino language of tagalog – “Bundok”. So there you have the background of the word, now let’s go back to the hat. Took resemble the traditional military hat, we decided to take our ‘Crank-Camo’ design to cover both the military and lacrosse art aspects into the product. The finished product are illustrated in the following photos:
